Sanap Cliffs
South-coast cliff walk above Munxar. Less photographed than the Azure Window successor sites, and better for it.
The south coast is where Gozo turns its back on the tour buses. Sanap is a stretch of limestone cliff above Munxar — drop-offs to the sea, dry-stone walls along the path, the wind louder than anything else.
Walk out from the village in the late afternoon. The light moves across the cliff faces, the rabbit-warren paths fork without warning, and you stop seeing other people. Bring water and shoes that grip; the rock is sharper than it looks.
